Uhm.... excuse me? I just want to upgrade my video card drivers, thank you. I shit you not, it is not allowing me to do anything unless I log in.

What?
>>
>>62101799
Delete that shit
>>
>>62101804
You know... QQ
>>
>go to nvidia website
>"download drivers"
>click your GPU
Wxact same process as always, repeated to you with the exact same condescending attitude given to anybody who's asked how to install drivers
>>
>>62101799
There was an update months ago that changed it so you must login to do fucking anything.
As much as I like shadowplay and shit, no way in hell was I going to do that. Uninstall.
>>
>>62101799

Just not use this shit

yes, captain.

Is the "Game Ready Driver" for my video card the package I should be using?
>>
>>62101847
Just download the regular drivers and uncheck GeForce Experience
>>
is AMD doing this too?
>>
>>62101847
>there are people this retarded on /g/ now
making tech accessible was a h u g e mistake
>>
>>62101879
Yes I think they also have a 100% optional standalone software for notifying you when new drivers exist
>>
>>62101847
use whichever you want, but for the love of all that's saint uncheck the "Geforce experience" and any similar crap that is not called "NVIDIA driver" or "Physx driver" in custom install options.

Actually, just install any October 2016 driver or earlier and be done with it. I have installed the recent one (Jul 2017) and have not noticed any difference in FPS however new drivers have introduced me to a brand new feature from Nvidia i have been waiting for ages - it's called "NVIDIA telemetry", God bless them.
>>
>>62101897
>telemetry is a bad thing
when will this normie meme just fucking die already
>>
you only /just/ learned about experience doing this? jesus man
>>
>>62101897
also, to keep my conspiracy story flowing: after installing that shitawful update, I have noticed short, but very frequent occasions of power circuitry whistling, which until that day only have occured when applying changes in Nvidia Control Panel 3d settings.

So, DDU'ed that shit and rolled back to initial Jun 2016 driver that was released along with first batch of Pascal GPUs and have been fine ever since.
>>
>>62101935
i understand that post is made with tongue in cheek (dick, more like), but why the everloving fuck would i let the company use my processor's cycles at my expense, ever? Whatever data they are collecting, if they don't pay deductible to me to cover my electricity bills - they can fuck off right away.
>>
>>62101897
Why? It's a big experience.
>>
>>62102040
for hu... ang
>>
>>62101897
>"NVIDIA telemetry",
had to take ownership just to delete it. It did not want to go.
>>
>>62101799
>he bought nYidia
>he probably didn't even disable the telemetry service

Good goy.
>>
>>62102061
shit, i would've totally buy that S3 card but they all sold out. I'm genuinely sorry for supporting those you don't like.

Also i disabled telemetry. Then i just rolled back to previous more stable driver version (read before posting next time, be dear)
>>
>>62101799
I already had an account to use their forums.
But the telemetry is a bit much.
What are they even using it for?
>>
>>62102551
Making sure you're game ready by scanning all of your games
>>
>>62102771
So all it does is record what games you have and play?
Doesn't a GPU company kinda need that information?
>>
>>62101799
>2017
>using noVideo Expirence
>also posting on the wrong board
>>
>>62101821
This isnt game ready drivers, idiot.
>>
>>62101998
Then stop using their products/services and disconnect from the internet.
Bye, won't be missed slut!
>>
>>62101879
No signing in needed. Crimson just works.

Has somebody touched you inappropriately in your childhood?

Don't be shy - share your story.

Ah, I got it. OP is an autistic, retarded manchild you plays video game and pretends he is tech savvy among his friends.

Why does anyone even need this crapware anyway? So you get notified the very minute a new driver comes out that's exactly the same as the one you've already got except for some minor optimisations for a game you don't even have yet?
>>
>>62101799
Unless you're using Shadowplay, delete the Geforece Experience crap. Download the driver directly, and do a clean install (actually check the fucking clean install option) and install only what you need.

Now, even if you are using Shadowplay, go ahead and delete that Experience crap anyway. OBS uses the exact same hardware and encoder as GFE is using, and it's a far better piece of software, regardless of whether or not you're just recording or streaming.

Just run the downloaded self-extractor, then remove what you don't need before running setup.exe. You may also need Display.Optimus on certain laptop configurations.
>>
>>62103129
>Has somebody touched you inappropriately in your childhood?
Telemetry has.
>>
Not a big deal. Just press Gmail login. There u go. Muh telemetry. Fuck off you aren't important, if you're coming on anime image board and posting this. You virgin man child
>>
>>62102881
>Doesn't a GPU company kinda need that information?
name one useful piece of data a gpu company needs from its clients. Go ahead, try to find something that makes any sense
>>
>>62102551
they just wanna do some calculations on your PC and send the results back to their server, when your station is idling
>>
>>62103459
so mining satoshis ?
>>
>>62103520
that's an option... But more likely they just gather the list of installed games and maybe what the performance is to see, which title they should optimize for next driver version first
>>
>>62101804
chinks use it

Do they still bundle it with Raptr? I have a R9 390 but I never see Raptr included anymore when my drivers update.

fuck off script kiddie
>>
I hate Nvidia but AMD can't match the performance of a 1080Ti so I am stuck with Nvidia.

>>62103082
Nope, not a sad, spineless retard like your kind.
>>
>>62101799
Stop lying. The truth is you can get the drivers without providing your personal information. The change is that the "GeForce Experience" program that auto optimizes your games now requires you to pay with personal information. You don't *need* that. I hate it too, but get it right.
>>
>>62103764
It literally says the second password is wrong
>>
>>62101799
takes 2 mins to set up an account. shadowplay is way more convenient than obs for recording and streaming.
>>
>>62104130
Or you can use windows 10 native streaming with zero performance loss since it is integrated into the operating system
>>
>>62104169
is this bait? windows recording uses cpu encoding which causes a decrease in performance. shadowplay uses the hardware encoder on the gpu which has little to no impact at all.
>>
>>62104230
Heh...
