Thanks. I don't know about the ceiling, to be honest. The house was built in the 60s and has beams every 6 feet; the boards go above each beam and walls. I would assume there's nails at each beam, and there *might* be glue going to a sub-roof between the beams as well, but I've never had the occasion to check, since the ceiling has held up well.

Initially got the pith helmet as part of a halloween costume, but now I use it when gardening or doing yard work on hot days. Soaking it in water and then experiencing the evaporative cooling really does help to make you feel cool. Artwork pic attached.

I use one of those as my desk. It's mITX, but I think I could put a mid tower on here without any problems. There's some wobble when I type, but my keyboard has MX Clears that I smash pretty hard, so your mileage may vary. The biggest problem I've had, personally, is that I couldn't use the clamp mount for my monitor arm; I had to drill a hole in the plastic and put a small piece of wooden flooring tile on either side to mount the arm. Without the flooring tile, the plastic bends to shit and the arm wobbles like a motherfucker.

On the upside, there's a shitload of space under the desk. There's enough space that I put an ottoman under it for a leg rest. I push it off to the side when I'm not using it. It's pretty nice.

Yes I fix them myself. Most of the time they work fine and just need a bit of maintenance work, but the bigger light blue one was a bitch to fix. Everything was broken in someway.

Sad to say, I'm not. I had to move back to my parents' empty house since the CS degree I got last spring isn't actually finding me work.

I went for RGB as the primary dividing scheme for my 3 main rooms (living/bed/computer) mainly because it amused me, and then a riot of colors in the lounge/reading/movie room which is still very much a work in progress; there's a projector behind the panels and a movie screen on the other side. Also, I like to travel. A lot.

I am currently rewiring the computer room that's why the cables are in such a sorry state. By the way, years of clubbing in my 20s have absolutely wrecked my ears so fancy speakers are wasted on me.

There is wired gigabit available throughout the house, I used to maintain a bunch of Linux boxes running Kodi and whatnot in every room, I replaced all that with a bunch of steam link devices and steam controllers during a sale so I can leverage my main gaming PC's capabilities in every room and cut down on maintenance. This worked out very well - can recommend.

Nothing of mine uses composite m8. All RGB all the way! Either SCART or VGA depending on technology.
That telly i've got is a batshit rare one I had to pick up in london!
It has VGA in and a 720p picture tube (PalPlus but that'll happily take 720)
If A device can't do scart it can usually do vga so all equipment can be plugged in together.
You can get VGA to SCART adapters but need a graphics card that'll do sub15KHz sigals.

Well these are quite old, when I bought them I didn't really understand the difference between PBT and ABS. The only difference between the two is that PBT is thicker/more grainy texture and these are a bit thinner and just no texture, it's preference and I didn't realize at the time how much I preferred PBT.
