I want to see how many times per second my computer can produce a left click (as in the input from a mouse) My programming experience is very limited and my first thought would be to produce an input upon each tick of a timer, is there a better way?

Install xdotool and runtime xdotool click --repeat 1000000 --delay 0 1then just take 1000000 divided by the value of "real" to get the clicks per second. Keep the cursor inside the terminal emulator because it if actually clicks a button or something it might cause the application containing the button to completely shit itself from receiving so much input.
