Hey /g/, I need a laptop for the course I'm taking with pic related specs. I'm kinda clueless about this stuff, so is there any brand or model that would have something that fits these at a reasonable price that isn't gonna fall apart after a couple years? Thanks.
Good laptops don't exist
Why the fuck would a school require that you have an SSD in your laptop
Probably so you buy the one that they link you to
Dell Inspiron 7000 series.
Are you taking courses that require autoCAD, Rhino, and such?

They didn't link me to one, so that's probably not the reason.

Thanks. I'm not sure what we'll be using in the course, but it's a software development course if that tells you anything.

Ah. I see. Well the Inspiron line is fairly cheap (cheapest is around 800) with the specs you linked. gf has one for architecture and design and it's held up fine for the past year she's been using.
What in the fuck are taking that requires a laptop to be that powerful? Even engineering courses have workstation labs for you to do your CAD garbage in.
