show em your personal projects and knowledge and shit
>>
>>62058679
Sure you can. Just don't be arrogant about it.
>>

If you actually "fell" for anything on this board I don't feel sorry for you. Fag.
>>
>>62058679
I did this last year, what changed? I mean, you're not going to get a job with Google unless you're a fucking savant (or transgender), but it only took me about 3 weeks of job hunting once I had a portfolio worth looking at on github.

Common sense
best meme
>>
>>62058679
You can. It is just harder, and recently got a LOT harder now that employers have figured out that people who spent 2 weeks in a "koding bootkamp" are not programmers.
>>
What kind of personal projects do you guys show to your employer? I'm genuinely curious. Give examples.

Quite true 2bh fàm. Common sense protects you against skiddies' phishing attacks and downloading Trojans because it's name "justibbieber.exe", but it's powerless against exploits such as found in the NSA / CIA leaks as these are far from being trivial.

A x220 is perfectly fine. If you want a bigger display get a t420. If you have the dought, then you can even get a newer model (not worth it for me though)

SSDs are neither a meme. They are good and useful.

You don't need a CS degree to get access to the very books which constitute it, memorize them, and apply them.

Only socially retarded idiots fail at this.

Binux meme
Aliexpress and those chink sites

Ain't even all that mad, it's pretty cosy. Not even a poorfag really, but the way i spend my money, it sure seems like it. The most expensive piece of technology I've bought has been my BinkBad W520 for $340 (AUD) followed by a pair of HyberX Savage 480GB ($270 (bundle deal)) and 2 1920x1200 monitors ($240 (bundle deal)) over the course of 3 years.
Thanks for showing me the ways of the BinkBad, /g/
>>
Hiring manager here, people without degrees work harder and are usually better problem solvers than most CS grads. CS grads also tend to neglect networking and rarely have good office skills. Its ironically the office skills that are usually the issue.
