I want to use a Subwoofer for my system but it only has a port that looks like a RCA connector. Could any RCA cable work? Or does it need a special cable?
>the current state of /g/
it has to be a proper subwoofer cable, otherwise it can't handle these low frequencies. good manufacturers like monster, oehlbach and audioquest make these

Okay I get, don't have to be all sarcastic

Couldn't agree more, normal cables just can't handle those low frequencies going through them and the degrade in weeks. Make sure to buy a proper one.

You need an active subwoofer - with a built in amp

Why do I NEED an active one?

RCA port is a low level output - you can't drive anything with it - signal needs amplification.

>good manufacturers like monster
Why do I even bother coming to this board anymore...
>>62029275
just buy the amazon basics cable

So what port should I put the active one on?

>not using Pear Cables
It's like you don't even want to hear the bass. Using a quality cable from Pear Cable will make you hear frequencies you didn't even believe existed.

most subs are powered, so the input has to be line level
