Why do phones seem to be missing storage? How do companies get away with this?
For example, my OnePlus 5 is advertised as having 64 GB storage (Gigabytes).
Assuming that Android actually reports in GiB (Gibibytes), we should be expecting a total of 59.6 GiB. So let's add up all the partitions, I'm using DiskInfo, if I'm still missing any partitions, please tell me. Anyways, it adds up to 57.07 GiB, Huh? So where's the rest?

and the OS itself
but yeah that too

oops, didn't mean to leave that in the name field

Companies scam you. They measure it in 1000mb = 1gb while in reality all machines measure storage as 1024mb = 1gb and so on. Over time the small difference becomes massive and it becomes obvious that you're being scammed.

Actually read my post, the MB to MiB conversion isn't enough to explain that.

I've already included the OS, and it's not enough to explain it.
