editing config files is significantly easier in linux (even if they appear in multiple places) compared to doing the equivalent in windows

command lines are an inherent part of linux and, with enough skill, a lot more powerful than many guis.

many more options to change appearance; less likely to run into shady sources just to get a new taskbar.

for me, anyway, linux is significantly faster than windows. more importantly, even after 2 years of using the same linux setup, it's as snappy as it was when i first started using it. the same cannot be said for any of my windows setups.
>>
>>61980765
Not him but at the very least, it's an annoyance to even know the system is updating. Not only that but windows skips over group policy and registry settings and often reverts some back.
>>
I semi frequently run into issues installing python dependencies that are distributed without wheels on Windows. Never had a problem on Linux.

The one part of Windows that works is the NT kernel because Pajeets can't system program so MS has to pay actual engineers to do it.

Terminal emulator,
WMs,
configurability (configuring anything from kernel to DEs/WMs),
non monolithic (systemd sucks though), more secure (bugs are fixed faster than in windows),
it's not obfuscated like windows,
much better documented than windows (fact that windows is closed source and you can't make major changes to it makes it less documented and more obfuscated),

In the end I like Linux tools/software more, and if I need to update my all (not just one application) system or to install something just use package manager. In the end Linux is more conveniet to someone who doesn't play video games much.

lets get real for a moment. You install windows 10 in about 45 minutes and for most linuxes its about the same but remember. Biggest base linuxes are about 1 gigabytes or 2 while windows 10 can be more than 5 gigabytes of data. And what happens when you open them. On the linux there are about 2 functional buttons, 3 are nonfunctional and in those two buttons there are some pictures to play with. Maybe slide down or up. On windows though, you feel like a god. Its professional its fast, its all functional. You have a godlike user interface. The thing that the linux does not have. You have those two buttons in the linux, but you still search google for codes to write in terminal. Linux is free because its not worth a penny. Nobody would sell a paper without taking the money. Just not sure why people still buy android while windows phone does 10 times more. Trust me. When you work with windows you know some genius ground breaker dedicated himself to give you an operational os

>On the linux there are about 2 functional buttons, 3 are nonfunctional and in those two buttons there are some pictures to play with. Maybe slide down or up.
>the linux
Let me interject for a fucking moment. It's GNU/Linux. But seriously, if you measure functionality in clickable buttons you must be mentally disabled. Also I'd need you to elaborate on what are those "buttons" you complain about.
>You have a godlike user interface
Why do you think having to spend 90% of your time clicking is godlike. User interfaces that require extensive use of your mouse and no keyboard shortcuts at all are not even remotely useful.
>You have those two buttons in the linux
What two buttons? I don't get what you're talking about
>but you still search google for codes to write in terminal
>codes
I swear to god if I meet you I'd kill you. I have only searched for "codes" during my first two weeks as a linux user. And these "codes" are the biggest reason people use linux - you can do everything you want in a few seconds while on a windows you need a minute or more.
>windows phone does 10 times more
Apart from not having a thing like Siri or Cortana, android phones are far better from a windows phone. Not having an interface that nobody could ever navigate through and having an app store that actually has something in it is the reason why iPhones and androids are both superior to windows phones.
>>
>>61981341
Most retarded post I've read today.

Windows is losing in these categories:
>smartphone/tablet (android wins by 70 %)
>server(web) (66.6% Linux)
>supercomputers (99.79% Linux, windows 0%, no one is stupid enough to use windows on supercomputers)
>mainframe (28% linux, 72% z/OS (IBM special unix OS?))
>video game consoles (16.69% goes for windows, 35% is unix (BSD, I assume) and other is special snowflakes like nintendo, wii, switch.)
>embedded (29.44% Linux, 11.65% windows)

Windows wins only on desktop/laptop category. You know why? Because majority of people don't know, nor need to know how computers work.

Face it, windows is for tech illiterates and gaymers.
