Ever single Linux distro, freebsd, you fucking name it all freeze up at Network Configuration when I try to do a fresh install. Not a single god damn fix online will get me past it. /g/, are there just some laptops that are impossible to run anything other than their pre-installed OS(windows 8 in my case)?

Not impossible, but close. Try Ubuntu, if it doesn't work out of the box, chances are you're in for a world of pain trying other distros.

Already tried it. I tried Ubuntu, Linux Mint, Debian, Arch, Remix OS, Freebsd

have you tried a lan cable?

Yep, still freezes.
Unless you give specifics about your hardware, we can only help you so much, OP. That being said, Fedora is the only distribution that has never given me any problems with networking whatsoever over the years.
It's the reason I ended up using Fedora in the first place--when I was new to Linux, Fedora was just about the only thing that would support whichever wireless chip was in my old Compaq laptop.
Obligatory /g/ is not your tech support.

Network interface is Qualcomm Atheros AR9565. The laptop is a Toshiba Sattelite c55-B5201

I'm too tired to check that out, and I'm about to go to sleep, but I'm pretty sure Fedora should work fine. I'm also ~90% sure I had an Atheros in my Compaq. Good luck, OP.

I'll give it a try, thanks anon.
