This is hilarious because the problem with mpv is exactly that you can't change shit on the fly. You want to change a setting? You'll have to close your player, find your config, and quite probably look up in the manual how to actually go about it.
In MPC you can do it piss easy within the player itself, and no, it's a few clicks of a mouse at worst (protip: the menu even has hotkeys).

It's literally just like 3 lines of code, and every media player I have ever seen have supported this.
Also the fact that it just shuts down means that the dev team doesn't know fuckall about exception handling, which speaks volumes about the overall quality of the application.

You can post your le windows user memes all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that mpv is in its current stage shit compared to virtually every other media player media player out there.

Why do people feel the need of use only recently updated software even when they actually don't need it? It's probably going to work great at it's current state until the replacement of h265 comes. I've been using the same image viewer since 2014 and the same mp3 player for like 6 years too. They have been polishing mpc-hc for a decade now and you think it's going to be unsuable in a couple months?

Pretty much all media players: vlc, mpc-hc, mpv, etc all use ffmpeg wit some networking abilities and it regularly suffers security issues (because media networking is complicated, not stupidity or anything) also there is constantly tweaks made to ffmpeg for better support, stability and performance.

Does everyone still hate VLC? Other than the potato interface and lack of different icons for different file types, I'm happy with VLC.
