Sup /g/,
im trying to get into this whole usenet thing, after using OCH (gerfag, can't torrent) for years.
I've heard quite a bunch of good things about it.
Is it worth it and which provider would you recommend?
Thx!

I'm going to take a couple days off,
you could safe me a lot of time and trouble with this /g/
Why can't a "gerfag" [sic] use the torrent protocol?
Cuz it's friggin unsafe without a thousand proxies...

haha here in the US I'm not even scared at all. What are you afraid someone will hack you or something?

Congrats mate, we get letters from lawyers, plus I can't find good seeds for everything

worth it, I use two. check out /r/usenet's sidebar/wiki for a map of providers (diversify for best completion).
I max my download speed with usenet. 20MB/s always. Episodes are on my plex before they even air here. All automated. All in docker containers. I just have a compose file that builds the stack along with openVPN in a few seconds. Its the best.

> implying other countries' users don't get sued
but yeah, usenet is reasonably safe for normies

Wait, hold up. Why the fuck would you get sued for using torrents? You're not downloading stuff illegally are you? If that's what you're asking about then please delete this thread

ikr, when will these newkids learn to just buy licenses for the softwares or musics they want to download?
you can use free providers in the beginning
there are newsreaders that will display some information about the download without requiring an additional web service, pretty cool
