Depends on what kind of data we're talking about. Memes are organized in their own respective folders.

Music is organized based on artist then on year of the album/album title.

Movies I just put in a folder after movie title and year in parenthesis.

Porn is organize by female performer.

Uni stuff I organize by subject.

Ebook by title only.

Anything else is just a clusterfuck though, like my downloads folder and desktop.

Films are organised into individual folders.

TV series have a folder and inside is a folder for each season.

Images is something I can't decide how to best organise though.

Everything is installed on a 8Go USB (os and files). I store nothing.

Ebooks I order by subject and then subdivide into Authors, I just have too much, still almost 1TB in my backlog

Folders go by medium, generally. E.g. for anime, I have Anime and in anime is a folder called Archive where I store each series worth storing that I've completed. Everything that I've yet to watch just gets stored in Anime and once I watch it, I either delete if I drop it or it's shit, or I move it to Archive.

This applies to most other media as well (film, TV, etc.). In the case of music, it's just Music and then all my album folders, with singles or loose songs (e.g. some soundcloud free releases or shit that wasn't released on albums) stored in a folder aptly named Singles.

For porn, I have a folder for H-manga but I use software like what's in the /h/ panda thread to organize/manage them. I also only download complete h-manga releases (i.e. I don't snatch chapter releases or one shots that came from comics.). Those stay in favorites on panda until a more complete release is available. For JAV, I simply have a folder for each production company and just throw in the folders for each JAV appropriately. For things like western porn, it's sorted by actress. I tend not to download western porn comics. I also have a less organized 3D animation folder for SFM and shit.

Pictures are fucked though. 100% unorganized.

Filebot for organising movies and TV, YYYYMMDD_label for photos, Musicbrainz for tagging music (run a kodi server for streaming outside of the house), Calibre for books, news, websites.

I need a way to organise my youtube videos. I use youtube-dl to organise the new downloads name/YYMMDD_VideoName , but I want a way to store the description, and maybe some of the comments. I was thinking about doing something smart with php to create a youtube-like browsing utility for my youtube archive.

Whenever I download an image I take time to individually name it with tag words and a naming theme based on its content.

Am I autistic? I have done this for easily thousands of images, mainly anime images.

Music and photos are just thrown in the folders that come default in file explorer and then file historied to a NAS. It's quite a mess. Movies aren't much better, just in a videos subfolder called movies. TV shows get their own show and season folder. Porn is a whole different story. I have it organized by website source and from there it depends if the content it released DVD style or individual video in which case its organized by actress

What's the point of the tagging system native in photos? I meticulously tag all of my porn photos, but ctrl F doesn't find these tags.

I keep my games and movies on one drive and my programs and user files on another.
I don't mix business with pleasure.

Then I system link my user folders to my H drive from my C drive.
That way if I have to wife my system on my C drive all my data is on my H and G drive.
