I know GIMP doesn't have all features like Photoshop but for Hobbyists you can at least get decent results.
But is there any free video editing software that's even remotely comparable to Premiere? Windows Movie Maker is a joke. And I don't have a Mac so iMovie is out of the question.
Vegas?
Blender, if you already know the keybinds your workflow will be good.
Kdenlive if you don't know blender.

Davinci Resolve. You're welcome.

The newest thing of Vegas or Corel Video editor. Those are the best i can recommend.

You can edit good kino with Blender you fucking demented faggot.
NLEs in general are a buggy mess but I guess that comes from the fact that there's just so much stuff.
It might sound stupid but I think Final Cut Pro X will give you the most bang for your buck. I think it's $300 but it's a one-time payment and it actually comes with quite a lot of tools. I think even some semi decent films were edited with FCP.
The go-to industry tool is Avid (I think), Premiere is more something for "youtubers", but both have a per-month subscription that can get costly pretty quickly.
And yeah, Vegas, Blender and Kdenlive are more hack-jobs than anything
