This

Gpus are pretty standard for a pc build. Even if you're working in productivity like 3d modeling you need one and a consumer model will do just fine if they were vastly overinflated. Even 1060s are expensive now.

I do builds for customers quite often. The rx-470 4GB (570 now) was my go to choice of budget card. It was a powerhouse for gaming at it's $160-$180 price point. Now that same card is $280-$300. What the fuck "budget card" is even worth it now? The 1050ti 4GB is $150 - $180 and can't even Max 1080p! Worthless.

Here I was excited to see the Ryzen R3-1200 come put thinking I'd be cranking out AMD based builds left and right for budget minded clients and their kids who want to play games. Cryptominers are the worst.
>>
>>61932273
You really think gamers are the dominant gpu market?
>>
>>61932522
Definitely not. Not that anon but I don't think they were getting at that. I think it's that AMD gpu tech wouldn't be selling / wouldn't have sold so much if it weren't for gamers. other than the recent few apple computers when is the last time you saw firepros being put into OEM machines vs a Quadro?

Other than faggot miners and gamers, who else was honestly buying AMD over nvidia for anything other than price: performance?

Once you saturate the number of dumb people, it'll crash and burn because the only ways to spend it are a select handful of stores (that will close as it crashes) or selling to other retards

This is both the miners and manufacturers fault. You are a fat, usless neckbeard cuck. I hate you. I hate everything you represent, you deserve nothing but the rope - and even that may be too kind. You deserve no mercy, no one will cry over the loss of another worthless gamer - not a single tear.

>It's like you think these companies that make amazingly complicated hardware can't do the math as well as you can.

wow, its like you assume the management of multi billion dollar companies are actually rational.

Why go through tha ttrouble for a volatile figure, when you can simply increase what you charge by 10% or 50%
>>
>>61933457
They're not directly increasing what they charge, though. It's people buying the fucking things up to sell them to cryptominers who will pay out the ass for losses they will never recoup.
>>
>>61933477
You got any proof to back up your entire comment?
>>
>>61933490
This is how people are.
>>
I was so lucky that I got my 1060GTX 6GB for a normal price one week before they were sold out and then later only came back 30-50% more expensive. If this trend continues buying a prebuild pc will be cheaper than building your own computer.

People so often say "Cryptocurrency isn't centralized"

It is centralized. It's centralized in China. It's totally dependent on the outflow and development of technology. It's totally centralized. Because they control, though indirectly, everything. EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING BIT AND PENNY INVOLVED.

>I spent my money on something I won't use only to get abused by others instead of the product's real purpose
Keep it up. Nice future you got there you delusional retard.
>>
>>61933603
I don't know who you're arguing against.
I claimed they can make more money by simply increasing the price of the cards.
You claim they're not doing that and that the price surge is created by arbitrage
I asked for proof
No proof was offered
Now you're rearguing the entire point again.
Again where is the god damn motherfucking proof anon?
>>
>>61933361
Aren't gpu manufacturers in a dilemma here? They know that if they expand the GPU production they will inflate the production of crypto currencies to a point where it has to crash. In that case they will sit on a huge loss since they expanded the production capacity but miners don't buy any GPUs anymore. It would be really risky to just expand the production capacity just to fulfill the demand of miners.
>>
>>61933621
I mean, people really like to say Bitcoin is a fallback currency free of the dollar.

Bitcoin drops to $0 if a central asiatic war breaks out.

Geez, you nocoiner's sure are getting desperate. It's not too late anon, you can still join in and be rich, or you can sit in your delusional childhood bedroom and watch the oportunity of a lifetime pass you by? Silly goy.

Which will it be? Are you really that much of a brainlet?
>>
>>61933732
>you can still join in and be rich
Is anyone actually getting rich anymore? Did anyone besides a handful of very early adopters actually get rich?
>>
Only complete idiots dont use ASIC hardware for their mining.

GPU's are a total waste of money and electricity and people who horde them for crypto mining are quite dumb
>>
>>61934095
You do know nearly all coins are ASIC resistant right?
>>61934080
We're still in the early adopter phase, would it have been more proiftable to just buy more crypto instead of building rigs? Sure, but I've already got 4K's worth or coins and wanted another way to invest which was less risky.

>>61934358
>ASIC resistant
you just need to purchase ASIC hardware that is specialized for the specific type of hashing algorithms.
the hardware is available, you just need to commit yourself to a specific cryptocurrency.
I use ASIC BTC and LTC miners and each ASIC LTC miner turns about a $600 per month after electricity costs and cost me $1300 to purchase from china.
much better investment than dozens of GPU's
