Why does Google need 45 different messaging apps, most of which duplicate each other?
The graphic designers and million codemonkeys have to do something to earn their pay, even if that means producing useless crap.

So it's like Keynesian microeconomics?

>video/audio call app
>MVNO and voicemail app
>two fucking email apps
>dead app
>social network that uses hangouts for messaging
>retarded usenet-ish thing
>45 different messaging apps
what does your pic mean

Got me. I don't use any of them. Currently using Wire, but will jump ship the second Signal gets a real desktop app that is Mac/Windows/Linux compatible.
The fact that they shut down Spaces so fast just tells they have no idea what they're doing
A bot net for every occasion

They had a golden opportunity to overtake facebook with google+ back in 2010 I think, when facebook was not discovered by oldfags and most users were revolting about shitty changes. Instead of using this to push google+, they still had the fucking thing in "beta" and people had to invite each other. I remember the group of my nerdy friends switching to it for like a couple of months until we realized it will never take off since the normies wouldn't come over.
Google is a fucking mess. They are almost on Microsoft's level in being out of touch.
Terribly managed company.

you wanna know why it didn't take off?
people like keeping their things separate. that's right, in 45 different, separate messaging apps.

Rather like communism. Doing something, even though there is no demand and let important things behind. All for the sake of pretending of doing something.

>Why does Google need 45 different messaging apps
there's only 11 in the picture, can you explain anon?
>>61930567
They're still waiting for an iMessage/FaceTime equivalent to take off. Maybe if they keep making new messaging services and discontinuing support for past efforts something will stick!

Google Mail is depreciated, Inbox is a replacement.

>standard SMS client
>actually good IM client
>shit-trash IM client that is being killed slowly
>video call client
>Social Network app
>A good email client
>a beta app that was killed in beta
>literally the equivalent to myAT&T
>literally just a deprecated bug tracker
>a VOIP service
>a bad email client only there for laggards enterprises with draconian IT
wow look at all these totally overlapping messaging clients
