I am going to shill on the macbook now, its less than a pound, doesnt require you to arch your writs onto the keyboard, has a lot of battery life, and uses the POSIX system that linux uses.

You can also bootcamp windows in any mac.

Get a thinkpad if you really want to follow trend. They are heavy, durable, and last forever. X230 is my spec.
