HOW THE FUCK ARE MODERN WORD VERSIONS SLOWER ON AN i5-6500 THAN OLD WORD ON SOME FUCKING PENTIUM SCHOOL COMPUTER?

>>

literally poojets
>>
reminds me of how i used office '97 in windows 95 on my 1994 thinkpad in high school... in 2003-4
i could do the same basic work on my practically free machine that they could do on their $$$$ powerbook g4's
>>
(Microsoft) Word is /v/-tier, it's doing the same thing since 95 but they make it look different in every release so people can buy it more than once
just use LaTex

I have 100,000 word docs open all the time and typing is no problem. Documents over 1 million words and no problem. Fuck off. Office is the only serious program for enterprise use along with Windows 7.

Microsoft products were always like these. Look at windows, Each and every versions introduces bigger hardware requirements despite not doing very much.
And since Windows is a staple on the OEM market, windows was a large part of the driving force behind pushing more performance into the consumer market.

If you are paying for LaTeX, I have bad news for ya...

Libreoffice use it nigger.

>Inb4 mAh Docx

It already does support it now.
>>
>>61902290
from experience modern libreoffice is barely snappier than modern microsoft office, so recommeding it as alternative for that particular reason is silly at best.
>>
>>61902319
>barely snappier
It's slower, don't kid yourself.
