hey gents, I am starting a new IT job for my university. We will only deal with faculty and staff, no students. Not my first job, but first in IT.

sounds comfy. Any tips you'd have on moving up or extracting more experience out of the job? I'm going to be here for the next two years finishing my BSME.

I don't think there's much room to "move up" desu (at least there wasn't in my faculty), but you'll meet and talk a lot of knowledgeable people from
- your faculty, people you'd otherwise not meet
- other IT departments in your uni. You probably have to visit or call them from time to time. Depends on your tasks, what your professors/supversisors think you should do. I managed a vmware host, did tech support for a local conference once which was sponsored by our faculty, sat in a few talks by professors and other "famous" people in our area of research.
