I use handbrake and was wondering what should I put on my settings for the higest quality video for uploading onto youtube. I am going to encode a .avi file that is about 3mins long and over 300GB large, its a 4k 60fps video. Time isn't a contraint for me so any setting would be fine. Also does youtube re-encode your videos at a average birate?
H.264 and constant quality 19

since the video will be transcoded again at youtube's end, he'll want to overkill it a bit
i'd say crf 15 or lower, with the slowest preset you can deal with

click on the "x", and run makmkv instead.
>>61865919
makemkv isn't a transcoder

I said time isn't a contraint, wouldn't 0 be the best then?

crf doesn't affect the speed much, just the quality, 0 is lossless
the preset does affect the speed though, use "very slow" if you like
For some reason when I encoded the avi file with its pcm audio, I set it be ACC (passthrough) but the encoded mp4 has no audio. What did I do wrong?

you can't pass through aac if it wasn't aac to begin with
