I got one of these sims for free. 1MB of data a month is included as part of a developer promo.
what do I do with it?
I was thinking it might be cool to try to set up my own mini weather beacon and have it upload every hour or something.
u literally had this exact same thread before
stop shilling your shit on here and buy a banner

As opposed to figuratively?
>>61859016
Use it to set up your own mini spam bot and have it upload ever hour or something.

get a fucking job poorfag

>sign up for free shit
>receive free shit
>this means I am unemployed

Might try this to start with.
How much can you accomplish with 1mb of data honestly?

More than you think in IoT thing contexts. If you have a binary format that includes, lets say GPS coordinates, heading, speed, and maybe a couple over things, you can have a single update of 100 bytes or less. If you update every 5 minutes then 1MB is more than enough for a month.
This is the reason that many satellite data plans start at a couple MB.

That's pretty neat then. Thanks.

It seems like you already have a use for it, OP. Keep shilling the same thread over and over.
I noticed even tmobile has a IOT option now.
Anyone know of a $5-10 unlimited data plan even if its capped at a speed?
Midwest USA btw

It's funny, I work in a nanosatellite lab and we actually pay per bit transferred on the globalstar network.

does it auto charge when you hit 1MB or does it just cut you off till next month?
whats stopping you from using it all year and only the free tier 1MB per month?
>>61859016
Yeah no not a good idea. A weather balloon will be pinging multiple towers and fuck everything up. Trust me, I had an internship this summer working and launching solar balloons. We used APRS

A lora modem at max sensitivity settings would be cheaper and much lighter than any aprs setup.
