>tfw fell for the APU MEME
It would have been better had I bought a good CPU + GPU or Intel with eGPU and a good GPU card.

Bulldozer APUs weren't that good unless you were completely broke or building an ultra small form factor PC.

APU is good enough for a frogposter.

whats yer specs
if you are thight for money (<500$)
a ryzen 5 1600 plattform is cheap and will last you along time , if you need a good gpu you can get a G4560 system and upgrade the cpu to a 7700 later on

I see that now.
My complaints are:
Makes part of system RAM unusable.
Full driver support is missing
It got OBSOLETED FAST with the way games are going. (It still wasn't that good for some games at the time)
What is good:
I can watch 1080p movies and shows and videos.
I could have bought an HD Radeon 7000/8000/9000 2GB for less than $100, and it would have driver support on almost every OS without strange bugs. Or maybe Radeon R7 if those are good?

It's not too late.
I had an APU for a little over a year, the day I replaced it was the best day I'd had in a long time. A10-7850k replaced by an i7-5820k.

A12-9800 is only $100. Can't get much cheaper than that. The last Bulldozer APU.

FX 8350 is about $130 now. It has 8 CPU cores compared to A12-9800's 4 CPU cores.
But 8350 is missing AVX2 instruction set if that matters a lot.
Then a 1GB card is going to be $70-90 from a quick internet web search.
May be better off getting a good CPU + some good GPU than A12-9800 APU which, in comparison, is a mediocre CPU and mediocre GPU.
