I'm developing a saas app and currently considering pros and cons going multitenant vs single tenant.
I very much like the single tenant approach for its KISS and straightforward, performance will be better and scaling is trivial, just spin up another host with the app+db.
However I see most people prefer multitenant approaches but I don't understand what for? Having only 1 app running is a bit easier on the devops side and everybody runs the latest version all the time, but if it gets there it is much harder to scale and the application logic is more complex.

Any tips and pitfalls to look out for?
