Marketing is marketing, but most games won't support those resolutions. Most games barely support wide FOV.
These monitors aren't well suited for gaming, they're not ideal for media consumption either. They're good for keeping multiple windows open side by side without needing multiple monitors.

Why buy ultrawide when you can get three decent 24" IPS for under $200 each and run them in Eyefinity for games. Bonus prize: fov wonkiness tends to turn your outer monitors into telescopes, handy for across-the-map sniping.

I've had an AOC AGON AG352UCG for about 2 months now, 35" 1440p 100hz VA, most of the games I've played since getting it have supported 21:9: BF1, DOTA 2, Doom, Prey, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Rising Storm 2, Quake Champions. So far only Blizzard shit (Overwatch, Starcraft 2) forces black bars.

The immersion is great, the productivity (as mentioned) is great. Would recommend if you can afford it and an appropriate graphics card. QC issues are real (has "Batman" bleed) but literally never noticeable in use. VA involves some blurring, might go IPS (X34A?) if I rebought but this was a good price (€900) so no regrets. What I'd really like to try is ULMB but there aren't many good options.

Anime looks great in 23.5:9 via VLC also (movies are for a real TV).
