well I had usually just blocked the adblocker warning, but they have some kind of modal bullshit that disables the scrollbar when you do that
how do you keep the scrollbar when blocking the adblocker warning to better bankrupt the fake news?
copy paste the link into archive.is and then browse the archive version which will not only bypass the paywalls but also all their bullshit attempts at preventing you from reading their stories

just block JS. you should be doing this anyway. washington post works fine without it, you can still read the articles.
99% of the problems people have with being badgered for blocking ads have to do with allowing all JS to run by default.
