so I feel I have a pretty good grasp on vanilla ES6, but I'm guessing I need to supplement it with a framework. Node?
>>61799151
You don't even know JS well enough to criticise it
>>61799176
Yea...it was.
Awful syntax.
>>61799407
If you stick to OOP and/or MVC approaches, PHP's syntax and some of its capabilities are better than JS. But overall I'd have to agree with you. The developers of PHP just...I don't know. They do things they should do I guess.

>Pretending to be a web developer
That would be like pretending to be poor. Why would you do it?
>>61799151
It lets real programmers easily recognize webdevs.
The same way listing programming languages on your resume lets us know you've never worked on a serious project before.
As well as saying you're fluent in Python.
