I have a shitty old laptop spare, what can I use it for? All I can think of is to cannibalise the HDD and maybe RAM, but I don't have much to gain from that.
Is it possible to turn it into a monitor for another machine?

You can give it to a needy student.

Sometimes you just gotta get it go

I've seen somewhere that someone turned an old computer into a handheld N64 emulator, would something like that be possible?

You could do that with your current computer, or even a phone. Rather than "turning into" an emulator, devices simply run them.

I may do that actually. It's pretty shit though, would someone want it? How would I go about giving it away?
How much will best buy give you for it?

It's the difference between getting homework done after a midnight pizza delivery shift and getting mugged on the way to the computer labs. Yeah, someone will want it. Reach out to a local college/uni's financial aid department and ask if they can put you in touch with someone.

Ask Google where is your local Charity.

I could get $18 for it. Thanks for the tip, I didn't know brick and mortar stores traded in old PCs.
Not really sure if it's worth the effort, but I may do it if I happen to be passing by a place like that.

Gee, I dunno, maybe throw it into the sky?

Thanks anon, I'll do just that. I suppose I didn't consider that some people aren't as fortunate as me.
