Will GPU prices ever come down again?
I feel like even with mining-specific cards the retailers won't reduce prices because of the demand.

No, crypto-rape is the new normal. Welcome your new mining overlords.
Are there any specific GPUs used by miners?

At this rate it'll be better for me to get a gtx 1080ti instead of the 1070 I was planning on getting because the price went up so much.

Pre-order a Vega 56 before it's too late IMO.
>>61746380
Everything except highend (1080, 1080ti and Titan XP) which has horrible price per performance. 1070's are not popular among miners either but normal people are buying those instead. AMD cards were better for mining at the start but their effiency declines as mining gets harder.
Vega should be easier to get since it's only available as a bundle at start. But then again nobody wants a 300W blower.

RX570/580 seem to be the most popular but their stock is depleted so 1060s and 1070s are starting to become popular as well, prices are going up by 100+$ from what they should be.
>>61746380
They only buy mid-end, especially RX470/480/570/580 + GTX1060.
Anything beyond 1070 is basically unaffected (except for a small, negligible minority), but since all mid-end cards are gone now, more and more people buy 1070s, too which leads to increased prices there, some even go to 1080s and 1080Tis, but their prices remained at least SOMEWHAT sensible (if you acknowledge the fact that they never had a good price/performance ratio to begin with)

In my country the 1080 and 1080ti stock is depleted also because even though they aren't efficient it's still making money.

No, are you stupid?
Miners mean it's 100% justified for them to keep prices up.
If they didn't, they would be hurting their own profits.
They still might reduce it a tiny bit as a marketing move, but otherwise there's zero incentive for them to return to pre-miner prices.
This is true:

But they told me PC gaming was better and cheaper :(
ENOUGH WITH THIS CONCURRENCY MEME I'M GOING TO BUY A THERMOGRAPHIC CAMERA SO I CAN IDENTIFY AND KILL ALL MINERS
>>61746715
It is cheaper, if you buy a 1050 ti or RX 560, lol.
>>61746734
That's slower than my 3 year old $600 setup
And with RAM also getting slower it could really be that PCs are getting expensive again
