alright so basically i ordered two of these LED strips:

one of them i put under the lid of my desk so that it gives a nice backlight and covers the ground below it. i occasionally nailed in some thumbtacks to keep it from falling because the adhesive is actually pretty bad


the other one is all over the back of my monitor. I suspended the strip with these cable clips:

and used some 3M tape to keep the little box up there too. Then I just fuck around with different color combos until i get what i want.

Get a good 2 port PS/2 to USB adapter if you are going to go the RT3200 route, my monoprice one wont let windows see the mouse when waking from sleep and randomly resets, causing the any key currently pressed to be spammed for a bit.

The only tag I can find on it just has the manufacturer which is Lane.

I believe I got it from Staples but it was probably about 9 years ago and I have a feeling it won't still be in production. I'm pretty sure they called it a "microfiber task chair" but I'm not having much luck finding the exact model in a search. Maybe if you just search around for Lane microfiber task chair you'll come across the same one eventually.

It is comfy to sit in, although sometimes I feel like the armrests are a bit too high, particularly for mouse usage, and they're not height adjustable.

Honestly I just remembered plebspotters from a few years back and decided why the fuck not. Always envied the Klipsch heritage line you guys had, ended up picking up a pair of Klipsch choruses and fortes at an estate sale 2 years back that I still rotate into my listening room every once and a while. I also have magnepan tympanis, but out of my 3 main speakers I use the alon IVs the most because I work for Nola now and they were a gift from my boss who designed them. I gave the choruses to my parents after I did the crites diaphragms and updated crossovers. But yeah, I just had a nostalgia attack and decided to keep the flame burning, I hope you dont mind.

Some of the stuff we make I would never be able to afford in my lifetime, but it's great seeing that satisfied look on a local customers face when you've finished setting up his pair of our TOTL model in a custom veneer and he plays his favorite album. The glowing emails you get from someone who lives another country in broken English about how wonderful his new speakers sound is very heartfelt. Even the repairs are like that too. We still do upgrades on my bosses older designs like the dahlquist dq-10. We had an older gentleman who had a terminal illness ask us to fully upgrade his beloved dq-10s with ribbon tweeters, alnico midranges and woofers, basically make them a whole new speaker. It was really moving to see him so happy when we set them up at his home and he had a big ear to ear grin when the music started. You knew at that moment he was going to live the last few months of his life a very happy audiophile.

I've lived in an expensive penthouse type of situation before. The novelty kinda wears off when you realize that you're lining a corporation's pockets to live in a building with hallways and elevators that never quite smell right and a parking spot buried deep underground in a polluted garage that adds five minutes to your commute anywhere. Plus, the whole "downtown area experience" is a facade sold to you by Mr. Shekelberg. Most rational adults mainly go downtown to work during the daytime then back home to their comfy nests in the burbs afterward. A real major city is more interesting. Starry-eyed children think that major cities are these amazing and bustling places, and they're not wrong, but cities also contain aspects of everyday life that most adults would consider undesirable: crowds, grime, noise, danger, and a slight unease about just how many people are stacked on top of each other in one place.

There are some people who live in bustling cities and just wouldn't have it any other way, though.
