I have a soft spot for the old Galaxy Note 8. It was the only tablet I've ever come across that was the right size, and had a stylus that worked well enough, to whip out of your pocket and use as an electronic notepad. Surface and especially the iPad pro are simply too big to balance on your knee for this kind of freehand note-taking.

the surface is trying to be a macbook + an ipad and it's not doing a great job at either. Writing with it isn't nearly as good as the ipad and the actual build is weak compared to price-comparable laptops

the problem is android isn't a good tablet os. it was always meant for phone, not for more powerful tablets.

Someone is going to have to step in and make a dedicated tablet like apple did with the ipad.
