Why does Chrome's scrolling becomes so laggy when you have a lot of images on the page? For example if I go on Twitch and start scrolling the page so more livestreams/games are loaded, scrolling starts to feel as if I have 30fps in that tab.
Firefox scrolling is smooth.
Is there a chrome://flags tweak that may fix this issue? I don't really have any other complaints besides this retarded scrolling performance.
Firefox does not have this problem :^)
Have you checked chrome://gpu ?
I have no issues with that that I couldn't reproduce on firefox (actually, on firefox it's kinda laggy to scroll on sites like youtube on my end)
works on my machine

What to look for there? My GPU is quite old (legacy AMD) so I've disabled hw accelerated video decoding in flags but I don't see how this can affect scrolling perfromance. I have hw video decoding disabled in Firefox as well.
I've tested MS Edge just now and it also smooth as Firefox.
Tried using portable Chromium and Iridium. Same issue. Seems like this it stems from Chromium.
No idea what to do. Playing with hw accel, zero-copy raster, num threads and a few other tweaks didn't change a thing. Not even sure if this is a GPU issue or something related to JS because this only happens with "infinite" pages like twitter or twitch that have a lot of images.
