What's the point in RX vega if it's only as good as the GTX 1080 that came out over a year ago? Isn't vega a little too late? It would have been good last octoboer or november, but it's way too fucking late for anybody to care now.

Why didn't AMD just give up and trash Vega when they realized they couldn't get it to compete with Pascal?
I mean, surely it would have been better for everyone to just say: "You know what, we can't really compete at 14nm, let's wait a couple of years, and really nail 7nm."
Right now, AMD is commited to a crappy architecture till 2019/20 while Volta once again sweeps things, and after that we might end up with Navi performing at 2 year old Volta levels and have Vega-gate again.
