So currently the only distro that actually boots for some reason on my thinkpad p70 is gentoo. Not even ubuntu boots or installs properly for some fucking reason. Also for some reason I have to use the livedvd to install Gentoo and not the livecd, because the livecd only boots when I'm in BIOS mode but will think the computer is in UEFI mode.

Anyway, I got Gentoo installed and X working and KDE working, and then I added like 3 USE flags and did a @world update, and then X just would never find a screen ever again. I had to reinstall Gentoo to get kde working again. I have no idea how to progress because I need to add those use flags for programs like libreoffice and such to install. It's a problem with my graphics card obviously, but I have no idea exactly what to do to fix it.

I've tried asking in sqt about this multiple times but I either get no response or the person gives up. My last resort is to put windows 7 on it but I'll hate myself for it.
