My observation is if the 56 can pull off better lowest framerates than the 1080, and handily beat the 1070 then it can go in a mid-range box with a 1600 and make one hell of a price-performance monster for 1440p gaming. Well, Volta is DOA for video editing for sure.

I think I'm going to wait for AIB partner cards before I get a Vega. I'm reasonable sure that a Vega 56 will be fine for the Oculus I just ordered, and since I'm only driving a single 1440 panel atm it should work fine. I'm seriously considering upgrading to a triple panel setup though and at that point I should probably get a vega 64.

We'll see what the pricing on AIB cards is. I'm willing to bet there will be AIB cards with 1700 MHz boost clocks on air though.
