>apple have patented behind screen camera
Apple way ahead of the curve as usual. iPhone 8 is gonna be huge folks

u wot? for what purpose and how does that even work?

No need, I've already saged.

For maximising screen to phone ratio.
>>61621391
>way ahead of the curve
>no headphone jack
Have smartphones reached the end of useful innovations?
Manufacturers seems to be grasping as straws now, coming up with stupid gimmicks that don't really add anything.

yeah but screen stuff makes shit lens cover. shit quality light getting into campera

The samsung dex dock idea was pretty neat. The endgame for smartphones is to replace the average consumer pc or laptop. Itll be awhile before that happens though.

It is actually a really good idea. You can look directly at the eye at the person when skype-ing
>>61621766
yeah but even cheap lenses are shit for image quality, so how is letting light through a screen not going to be shit?
>>61621391
Source?
>>61621820
I don't know how they did it, or even if they did it or op is just memeing,
>>61621820
Presumably they have a filter in the camera's software that can compensate for the added light from the screen pixels.
So if there's a lot of blue on screen, the camera could leech any blue the pixels might have back-shined into the lens and offset the image to a correct representation.
>>61621978
>the added light
no, I mean impure shit in front of a lens.
I'm going to assume they turm off pixels when the camera is active and use OLED, so turned off pixels are transparent. but still the plastic that the screen is made out of, is going to ruin light for camera picture quality

Exactly what I was thinking
