Because firefox is better and more customizable, even on android. I'll give credit where it's due though, Brave is the second best browser available on android.

Anyway grown men use safari and iOS/mac
>>
>>61617552
Brave, by default, injects ads and referral links that give money to the developers. They block all ads that aren't like that. It's in their terms of service

It's on by default, for non-intrusive ads at least. Things like Amazon links, Google AdWords, Etc. Get automatically reformatted to referral links and ads that benefit the developer

I'd rather not contribute to the WebKit/Blink hegemony. It's important to support other rendering engines like Gecko, and I wish Presto still existed. Hell, if it meant support Edge and EdgeHTML then so be it.

Not him but explain it to me then : Everytime someone is promoting for android, customization is often quoted as it's strong point. But who exactly is going to take the time to rice his phone, writing shit on a terminal, monitoring his connection, etc etc. If you were a fully working grown man with compelling duties and responsibilities, you would'nt have the time necessary to do all that shit. Apple makes everything in is power to ensure that the OS is ready for daily usage at it's maximum efficiency, without any interference from the user.

The same can be said for macs. Execpt for true technicians, Linux is absolutely retarded in his concept.

I never had a Windows so I can't say but you have to experience first hand Apple products to understand what I'm saying.

Who knows. To get a seat at the W3C table, maybe.

I must say on Galaxy S7, Brave is by far the fastest browser. I browse during breaks at work, just disappointing VP8 webm doesn't work.

How do people still use Firefox on mobile phones? It's considerably slower than anything else and I've tested this on multiple devices across multiple networks. Page leading is always around 1s whereas Chrome, Brave and other browsers are in the <400ms range
>>
>>61617523
Garbage browser on desktop, only good browser on android
>>
>>61618320
This problem can be solved quite easily. Go in about:config and set dom.ipc.processCount to 4. I assure you that your browser will be faster. Maybe not as fast as Brave or other chrome derivatives, but at least nearly as fast with addons and without the botnet. Even on android

It works great on Android but there is no WEBM support.
On Windows, it's a mess. Insanely slow startup times, annoying UI that takes way too much space, Awful Bookmark manager, crashes...

Even as an Secular/Atheist, I Would rather support a Bible thumper than a bunch of SJW and their activators.
>>
>>61617523
Honestly? You want to know the reason? The UI is made in .js and looks worse than that shittier-than-shit Atom text editor.

Fix that and you'd improve this thing massively. Perhaps if it were GTK3 or QT, or even better: GNUStep, I'd use it.

I'm considering it, after what the faggots in Mozilla did, I'd switch over to the same man they exiled just to spite them.
>>
So much potential for Brave yet so much wasted effort so far in the development, it's just not turning out as I'd hoped it would. For a browser created by the co-founder and co-creator of Firefox itself it sure seemed like Brave would be a decent product but it's not working out, not sure if it ever will.

What a colossal disappointment.
>>
Isn't it just another Chromium reskin?
>>
>using a chromium clone
>>
>>61618841
I agree that the ad system is flawed, but Brave literally has zero say in how current monetization of the internet works. Unless everyone magically adopts it's system en-masse, it ain't gonna work.
>>
>>61619776

Decided to test out the latest portable version from:

https://github.com/crazy-max/brave-portable

since I can't tolerate actually installing software anymore (95% of the programs I have on Windows 7 Pro x64 are portable) I'm amazed at how fucking bloated Brave is. The 32-bit version in the folder is 350MB (and that's without even being RUN a first time) and the 64-bit version is 372MB.

By contrast, I have Firefox ESR 52.2.1 64-bit, also portable, and this same installation/same folder has been used for 7+ years now, upgrading through every version that's come out for Firefox ESR since 2010, in the same fucking folder, with 28 addons/extensions and 14 Greasemonkey user scripts, and again IN THE SAME FUCKING FOLDER and it's 272MB clean.

As soon as I ran these portable versions of Brave it said there's an update available and yet the Github page doesn't show an update currently available so, I have to wonder what the fuck is going on with this.
>>
Just started. Seems promising

If they can't make money from serving you ads they will make it by recording and selling everything you do on the internet. Simple.

The fact Brenden shills Brave here on 4chan illustrates how the christian work ethic in the US is dead and christians are a bunch of crooks, cons and charlatans who try and push off shitty products and hidden price scams on people by memeing his browser with a bunch of hype and vague and misleading claims on how Brave plans to control advertising costs instead of running a legistimate promotion campaign to actually educate people about what his browser does

It's not on Linux or Xubuntu 16.04, otherwise I might try it.
