IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN TOPPLE THIS MIGHTY BEAST OF GOOD PRICING FOR 1080p GAMING!!!
>>
>>61584650
RX 560? Basically equal to the 1050, only difference is power consumption
>>
Wait for Nvidia Volta GV107 GTX 2050 Ti
>>
RX560 2GB
>>
>>61584810
Is the 2GB limiting at all
>>
>>61584865

Yes, even at 1080p

I honestly wouldn't buy a GPU with anything less than 4GB of VRAM at this point, games are already pushing or exceeding that at 1080p with maxed settings.
>>
>>61584667
RX 560 basically has 1060 3G power consumption for 1050 tier performance.

With the mining shit happening, none of the RX cards are fucking worth it at this point.
>>
>>61584975
You're not pushing max settings with a low tier GPU, RX 560 or 1050s aren't anywhere near powerful enough to make use of 4GB ram, you'll run out of compute power long before you hit 2GB+ vram.
>>
>>61585636
that's the RX 550 dummy
>>
>>61585621
I would say only the 560 is worth it, and that’s only if power consumption isn’t concern, which it very well may be for some.

The 550 is cancer and needs to be priced way cheaper

The 560 is borderline unplayable in Wildlands on Very High, you're not going to be maxing out any new games.

The 560 is simply not powerful enough to make use of 4GB of vram period.
>>
>>61584650
>>
>>61585962
It's currently $129.99 for 4GB RX560s on newegg while the 1050TI starts at $144.99.

No 6-pin on the 1050TI, is a smaller card overall, and will run on low end shit or prebuilts much easier than the RX560, which is arguably the target market, old shitboxes or prebuilts with little space, and low wattage PSUs

Heck the 1050TI also has low profile versions too.
>>
>>61585964
Depends on titles. In nu-doom vulkan it runs as nearly fast with 10% less behind with same 4gb 1050ti setup at 15% cheaper. The 2gb gets the frames fucked half, i know because i own rx560 2g/4g and 1050ti. Still rx560 isn't good at it's current price point.

>>61586067
That sounds fucked.

The differences between the 1050 and 1050TI in Doom Vulkan is not because of the ram difference but rather the chip itself.
>>
>>61585621
just looked a few days back, a 460 4gb is still msrp at 130$ or there around, and that would be better then the 1050 if only because more ram when games are starting to push 4gb or above will allow you to run higher textures for longer.
>>
>>61585636
textures are largely if you have the ram its free visual upgrades, many games at 1080p are pushing 4gb or more, and then you have background use which for me is 1100mb so any game that uses more than 2900mb of ram, which is a good deal of what I play, would shit itself on a 4gb limit.
>>
>>61585964
um... inst wildlands the most optimized AAA game to come out in years? why use that as a benchmark for average games?
>>
>>61586210

No games are requiring more than 4 GB at 1080p. (Perhaps with ultra textures in some cases)

If you have more they will be happy to use more though.

>>61586182
desu, at $130, people would just shoot for the 1050TI

Especially when the only RX 460 4GBs left are the large XFX and Gigabyte cards that still need that 6 pin.

Sure anybody that builds their own computer probably has that 6pin, and arguably enough space for the RX 460, but kiddies on Dell/HP/Acer/Asus prebuilts or old shit boxes will have trouble trying to fit something like this XFX into their case, which might also warrant a PSU upgrade.
>>
>>61586260
Or a molex to 6 pin adapter...

>>61586225
Cuz wildlands needs a GTX 1080TI to do 1080P at ultra and is one of the most vram heavy titles.

Running Wildlands @ very high is borderline unplayable in the RX 560 and that only takes 3GB vram.
>>
>>61586227
doom at 1080 is pushing ram use to 5gb
tomb raider pushed it to its max
I believe mankind divided also pushed my card to its max

keep in mind, 1gb~ constant background use, when vram fills up completely it stutters a lot.

and while no game requires 4gb to play, literally the only aspects of games today that determine visual quality is the texture resolution as we hit diminishing returns with poly count, and we don't have powerful enough hardware for path tracing real time without tons of black spots.
>>
>>61586304
As a fury x owner I am sad.
>>
>>61586304
shit dev using nvidia black boxes and the game does not look good enough to justify the performance it gets, why is it the benchmark for the average game?
>>
>>61586291
I was watching Tech Deals where he was reviewing the RX cards and he was saying that they either wouldn't fit into the prebuilts he had, or didn't work with the EVGA provided 6 pin adaptor while he had the GTX 1060 running on the same machine.
>>
>>61586324
That's fucked up, an rx 470 should be matching a gtx 1060 for power consumption...
560 should be fine...
>>
>>61586308
RX 560 runs Tomb Raider at Medium quality and you still don't hit average frame rates of 60+

It simply doesn't have the compute power to max out games.
>>
>>61586260
If you don't have a 6 pin then that's a limiting factor, however I have never met a person who bought a prebuilt and then upgraded the system themselves. I had friends when I was in highschool who wanted to upgrade the family computer but dell/hp didn't have a pcie/agp slot on the motherboard at all.

But just point of personal preference here, I would go amd over nvidia just because of nvidia's recent driver issues, their driver killing gpu track record and the purposeful gimping/stagnation of the 700 lineup that came to clear light in the halo wars 2 beta when the drivers were out of nvidia's hands how good that card was (I think right around if not slightly ahead of a 980) and when the driver is in nvidia's hands its closer to a 960 for months if they decided to help them at all.

Its shit like that that piles up that makes me unable to recommend nvidia.

I say this as a person who has a 1060 6gb from an rma of a 280x, I like how the card turns off and the fans won't move, till it hits a threshold, I like how cool it runs, I like how silent it is when running, but I much prefer amds drivers that give me control of the clock speed to nvidia's we decided everything approach.
>>
>>61586385
its like you don't read anything posted.
>>
>>61586391
700 wasn't gimped through drivers you dumb fuck, it was a vram bottleneck. AMD aged better because gtx 770 had 2GB Vram, r9 280 had 3GB. R9 290 had 4GB vram, gtx 780 had 3GB.

I got a 4GB gtx680 and it's trading blows with my friends HD7970, except in dx12 where his card pulls ahead.

Oh, and on DX 12

>doom at 1080 is pushing ram use to 5gb

Really? The GTX 1060 3GB seems to run it perfectly fine at 4K at Ultra HD

Sure, new titles will pre-cache up to as much vram as you can throw at it, but does not mean the game actually needs that much vram.
>>
>>61585964
>The 560 is simply not powerful enough to make use of 4GB of vram period
you can increase textures while keepibg everything else on lower settings. Texture quality has 0 impact on performance as long as you have enough vram
>>
>TFW delicious passive single-slot low-profile 1050Ti
>>
>>61584975
This man is correct.

Ended up selling my 690 half a year ago because 2gb vram was bottlenecking it.
>>
Fucking retard, have you tried to play RE7 on 100% scale 1080p?
>>
>>61585636
560 plays most games 1080p ultra ~60fps
>>
>>61586903
hey man not cool, please delete this.
>>
>>61586176
I'm not sure, something to do either with nvidia's or AMD's code or "they" pulled the same old trick of bait-and-switch back in the geforce 2 mx/ti era with lowered image quality despite being ultra settings. One simple old game showed something strange between nvidia and amd/ati cards is Plants vs Zombie (pre-EA) on nvidia you get blurred edges and smudgy textures with no AA but on AMD/ATI you have fully anti-aliased settings.
Hardware reviewers are cuck these days and just keep pressing frames-per-sec without doing IQ comparison.
>>
>>61587001
Not the newer ones, the 1050ti totally wrecks it. See >>61586067
Unless AMD drops the price further and stop sucking crypto dicks from top to bottom range then it's a good fight with nvidia.
>>
>>61584975
My 960 4GB barely can handle dying light at 1080p and high settings. This game takes like 3,7GB of vRAM.
2GB vramlets on suicide watch!
>>
>>61587001
Only if it's shit like rocket league

Shit doesn't crack 40fps in Mass Effect
averages 52FPS in Sniper Elite 4
43 fps in For Honor

The 960 4G is barely better than the 1050 2G

That 4G is doing jack shit.
>>
>>61587409
you don't really understand how vram works, do you?
>>
>>61587447
Not only textures use vram pham.
>>
>>61587880
You haven't answered my question.
Mostly textures. Enjoy your forced compression, degraded responsivness and textures loading into slow RAM.
>>
>>61587909
lol Just like 68.62~78.36% of the world which doesn't have 4~8GB ram rite?
>>
>>61588472
kill yourself
>>
>>61586868
My brother.
Mine is paired with NoFan CR-95C (on a 95W CPU), fanless PSU and SSD storage.
Sure it costs a pretty penny but as long as you can stand lower fps(but still playable,at least @1080p) and don't do any heavy computing on your home machine then you can enjoy the blissful silence.
