Looking to see if it's possible to splice a USB type c into a USB type a connector. Need one on the fly and don't have time to order one. Also, can't find ANY info on this on the webs. I only need data to work. Any info would be appreciated.

Yes, it's possible

Could you help me figure out how?

Solder the USB A ground wire to the four USB C ground pins, the USB A VCC wire to the four USB C Vbus pins, the USB A D+ wire to the two USB C D+ pins, and the USB A D- wire to the two USB C D- pins
Or buy an adapter

Cut them both apart, strip the wires, match the same colors together, twist them around each other, heatshrink over them

The colors are different and USB C has many more pins than USB A

Match colors as close as possible, 5vdc will be red/black, the weird colors are just data so doesnt really matter if you fuck it up, just switch them. The more USBC pins are done at the very end at the plug, it still contains the same wires.
Just look at the pinout you nigger
