Get Programming: Principles and Practices Using C++ if you're completely new to programming

Accelerated C++/C++ Primer/A Tour of C++ if you're coming from a different language

Grab Effective Modern C++ sometime too.

Just read Bjarne's book about Programming Principles with C++, can't remember exact name but something along those lines.

Learn to use a graphic library like SFML. Then you are ready to try to do your shitty game and fail, you just need to keep practicing and improving (without killing yourself in the process)

If you are using Windows I can recommend Chili's DirectX Tutorials (Just search Chili DirectX on YouTube).

I started learning C++ with his first C++ Programming series and the Tutorial really helped me.

It's also a slightly different approach than some other tutorials because instead of programming the console for years, Chili starts with putting some pixels on the screen (+ teaches some game design principle's).

-> You learn about C++ principle's and Game Design (which is required for Nene Quest) + You will learn this in Visual Studio (Nene uses Visual Studio as well)
