I type using a fagtastic method I call "The Three Fingers Technique".

Also I glance up at the monitor to copy the words, I keep my eyes between the bottom of the monitor and above the keyboard to allow for easy glancing between each.

I wish the things you have to type where more similar to normal sentences, having to read then type random words doesn't seem representative of a regular writing process to me, since half the time is not spent typing but thinking what you need to type based on the screen.

I use nine of my ten fingers. My right thumb goes unused.

I taught myself. My fingers fly around like crazy monkey hands. I type words, not letters. I have muscle memory for an entire word in one fluid motion which is repeated exactly whenever my brain calls for it.

Honestly, the best way to put it really is "Type words, not letters."

I honestly don't know what method/how many fingers I use to type because I taught myself to do it and never paid attention. Hit around 115, and it was terrible getting taught to type in school because they want you to do it the "right" way. Still ended up being fine because I had 60-80 wpm going into that class and I think the target was 30.
