IT'S NOT FAIR.

INTEL WILL BEAT RYZEN NEXT YEAR, AND RYZEN WILL BECOME THE NEXT BULLDOZER

IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS

Holy shit Brian shareholders are not going to pay you for shitposting.

with what?

Intel is just now ramping up hiring for engineers to design their next-gen x86 architecture. Expect nothing substantial from them before 2020/2021 except 10 nm and more Skylake/Kaby Lake tier "enhancements".
>>
>>61506670
Because (((Intel))) has had the technology to beat whatever AMD comes up with for years.

They just don't release their best technology unless they are forced to, because they can make far more money selling shittier versions that are much cheaper to make.
>>
>>61506808
Oh yeah they have super sikrit ebin tech of hyberbibelines to magically beat AMD (no).
>>
>>61506808
Is that why they released that I9 mess
>>

>shilling for either Intel or AMD
Let both companies beat the shit out of each other. Gives us better processors in the long run.
>>
>>61506834
As of not Intel gives us better housefires.
>>
>>61506842
That's the beauty of it though. AMD will provide reasonable processors at a reasonable price, people will see that Intel processors are overpriced and heat like crazy. It will either cause the market to shift towards AMD or Intel will actually have to revamp how they make their processors. It's a good scenario.
>>
>>61506816

This is not the slam dunk Intel needs to grab back the performance crown. It's barely more powerful than a 1600X (maybe 10-15% realistically) and costs $100 more. Compare it to a 1700 or 1700X and it looks like hot garbage. They should've stuck to MUH CLOCKS 4 cores.
>>
>>61507063
>these clocks
Why does it even exist.
>>
>>61507104
Intel can't into MOAR CORES. I don't know why they even tried. Just release another quad core, you know everyone will buy it anyway because muh vidya. Oh well, whatever, Intel shooting themselves in the foot for the 10th time this year shouldn't even be a surprise anymore.

>>
>>61506808
Utter horse shit. Intel might be happy to drip feed desktop users, but they wouldn't risk their server dominance by playing games. The new Xeon lineup is an absolute disaster when compared to Epyc and is going to lose them a lot of market share in that sector. If they had a means to prevent that, it'd be getting rushed out the door right now.
>>
>>61507063
>Faster than the 1600X and 1700X
>barely more powerful

Nice try AMD shill, what you mean is that you can't afford a 8700k so you pretend that your purchase is "good enough"
>>
>>61508435
But it's not faster than a 1700X. And the single core advantage is pretty much gone compared to a 7700K.

When you remove the GPU bottleneck, you begin to see just how terrible the core performance of Ryzen really is. 130fps less in Snipe Elite, for example. Zen is Bulldozer 2.0 even to the point where AMD fanboys will ignore tests that remove the bottleneck until suddenly they realize their brand new CPU can't keep up a year later, just like what happened with Bulldozer.

7700k's advantage basically vanishes and yet is still retains shitty performance outside of gaming due to low core count

Wrong... nobody tests browser opening performance, app opening performance, responsiverness in app, all run from single core, 7700k is over 30% faster than the most expensive Ryzen there
>>
>>61506808
Intel sacrificed the Xeon line at the alter of AVX, since they were more paranoid about losing market share to Nvidia GPUs doing fp work than AMD chips doing normal int work.

Hence shoehorning AVX2 then AVX512 into every fucking web/file/database server chip, where a lot of compromises need to be made on power in order to keep the pipelines fed.

They're straight fucked for the next 2-3 years, since they never guessed AMD could make a chip that could compete on 80%+ of their actual market, and Skylake-E is starting to look Bulldozer tier in a lot of ways.

One of the big surprises for Vega will be that it can do direct IF over a PCIe slot with Ryzen/TR/Epyc, since it will have serial interface PHY muxing the same as Zeppelin.

That means software stacks that work on Raven Ridge APUs, discrete CPU+GPU combos, and the eventual hybrid enterprise MCM APUs.

this isn't even a good OC

How many levels of retardation do you have to be on to think this is a good comparison?
>>
>>61522158
It matters because it's a glimpse at future performance, or high refresh rate performance. The moment a more demanding game releases or the moment you get a more powerful GPU, the Ryzen will grind to a halt, just like Bulldozer did.
>>
>>61522307
Like, 5 or 6, my guy
>>
>>61522319
Oh boy it's the Zen=Bulldozer dipshit.

More demanding games in the future will use more cores because Intel is finally going to 6 cores with Coffee Lake S, and will also use more of the power and features of newer GPUs.

Your entire argument is based on a flawed premise that you just spam over and over in multiple threads. Go away.
>>
>>61522353
Battlefield 1 already utilises a lot of cores

DX12 and Vulkan will make more cores a lot better eventually
>>
>>61522393
strangely, crysis 3 has most scalable engine I have ever seen. I don't know how they did that under dx11.
>>
>>61522518
>I don't know how they did that under dx11.
Command lists i guess.
>>
>>61522353
It only took Bulldozer less than a year until it turned to shit. Developing games to work with more threads takes exponentially more time, DICE just recently hit 8 threads with Battlefield 1 on Frostbite and Ryzen can barely compete, let alone falling to shambles when you remove the GPU bottleneck.

Your entire argument is based on a flawed premise that spamming 'nuh-uh!' will somehow prevent Bulldozer 2.0 from failing - it's simply too late for that, hopefully it's not too late on that return policy.
>>
>>61522648
You keep spewing that Zen=Bulldozer shit, I'm sure someday someone that isn't another diehard Intel shill will believe you.

then they are shit at this. crytek did better with crysis 3. it just scales up and up.

I'd like a source for that.
From experience with SW architecture, this sounds like a complete bullshit.
>>
>>61522648
>Ryzen can barely compete, let alone falling to shambles when you remove the GPU bottleneck.
In shitty old games that only use a single thread. At which point you're already into the hundreds of FPS, so it's pointless to even compare. >>61522158
>>
>>61522852
Battlefield 1 uses 8 threads.

You mean by far the most CPU-intensive part of the game? And you're the one memeing about GPU bottlenecks. Oy vey.
>>
>>61523149
Yes, actually. The default frame rate cap is 200 for Battlefield 1, 166 is less than 200. Do you know how to do math? Oh, that's right, you don't know what a bottleneck is, I forgot.
>>

You mean Intel's "slower than 14nm" 10nm?

Your "logic" makes no sense. A CPU bottleneck would also stop it from achieving its framerate cap. There's no CPU in existence that can push 200fps in a 64-player multiplayer session of Battlefield 1, even at 720p/low settings with SLI Titan Xps.
>>
>>61523210
Don't you know everyone plays 4-5 year old games at 720p with dual 1080ti's on a 240hz monitor? Damn casuals these days.

shit like this is so fucking dumb

Both the major consoles are multicore. We live in a world today where there are a few major engines that just about everything uses.

Do you think Epic or even Unity are just gonna say fuck it, lets pretend like its still 2008?

You're the one who makes no sense. You don't benchmark CPUs at 1080p and ultra quality.

yes, because you bench them at 480p and low quality. everyone plays games at 480p.

The problem with this logic is that the number of draw calls to the GPU are so low at low resolution and low settings that it's not as great a CPU stress test as you think it is. 1080p/Ultra with a really strong GPU makes a lot more sense for a realistic but also taxing workload for the CPU.
