I switched from VLC to MPC-BE when I started upgrading my collection to HEVC. VLC has problems playing that.
The thing I like the most about MPC-BE is the thumbnails preview when hovering over the seekbar. I don't know of any other player that has that. The dark theme isn't bad either.

In short, I stopped using VLC because it wasn't cutting anymore. When you start having playback issues you'll switch too, without needing any meme reasons to do it.

All this hubbub got me to install the most current version of MPC-HC. I nuked everything, since I was using KCP before. I downloaded and got madVR up, but I can't get XySubFilter to be recognized no matter what I do.
