>go to introductory class for uni computer science course today
>Everything sounds okay except the lecturer going on about how he loves to code games and other appeals to youngsters
>We split off into smaller groups with a few current students giving us advice and answering questions
>They get us to write our names on tags
>Black kid gets the pen and blank stickers, writes his name on the paper under the stickers and rips it off
>current students have to show him how to do it properly
>Next guy asks a question about if we're going to be shown how to forward emails
>Final year Information Systems student is talking to us, mentions how he took coding as his minor
>I ask if programming is the same course as coding since that's what's listed in the booklet
>He doesn't understand
>I explain that "programming" is what's written on the sheet in the handout and ask if that's the minor he took
>He stumbles on his words and doesn't answer
>ask him what languages he's been taught
>"No, I'm not doing languages"
>Leave it for a few minutes
>Say "I meant programming languages. What programming languages have you been taught through the course?"
>Oh... Well... A bit of python in core units and then... there's a bit of python in the first semester...
>He trails off and then moves on to asking other questions

Has it ever dawned on you that your prof may actually enjoy game development? How are you surprised that an IT guy was confused by your pendantic question about coding vs programming?
Don't worry though, your course is fine, it has the clueless, the average, and you "that one guy who asks stupid questions but still thinks he's the smartest guy in the class," as expected for an intro class.

I hope OP reads this.
You've just burnt a ton of money.
You don't need a degree. You will have to pay for one.
You don't need to spend all that time studying. You will have wasted time you could have spent learning on the job.
Run. While you still can.
