I just got a project on my desk I need the most objectively superior, fastest and effective method to learn Python 3.
Any books/guides I should see? pinky promise I will sit for 8-10 hours every day studying whatever you may recommend and if I see fit to it.

Which languages, if any, do you know already?
>>61430811
Why is your job giving you Python work when you don't know Python? Lie on the resume OP?
>>61430842
Just minimal HTML stuff, I'm more hands on type fixing printers and and Computers but that's about all.
>>61430859
not exactly... but close.. I'm the only 'computer dude' in here anyways.

Most people tell me https://learnpythonthehardway.org/ but I found it a bit too rudimentary for my tastes, but it probably is the best for beginners.
Also
Beginning Python: From Novice to Professional is a pretty good book but once again too basic.
You should lurk more on Quora and https://www.fullstackpython.com/best-python-resources.html despite them having more subjective preferences
I am interested in learning python myself. I have no programming or coding knowledge. How long does it take to have working knowledge of it, and can you get hired for just knowing python?

Python 3 Cookbook
is pretty neat

Seconded learnpythonthehardway.
Since OP kind of misrepresented his skills and needs to perform in probably less than a week, we need to assume he barely knows what a command prompt is, otherwise he would have already learned it on his own.
Let this be a lesson: If you lie your way into a job, do NOT rest on your laurels once you get the job. Learn what you said you knew.
t. got first developer job with zero real experience and a bullshit certification

Automate the boring stuff, and Learn Python the Hard Way really helped me learn
>>61430811
https://learnxinyminutes.com/docs/python3/
Just read that and you will know the language.

Stay away from learn python the hard way. The author is an anti-python3 troll and the book isn't that good in the first place.

This is a goldmine guys, I should've just asked here instead of wasting 2 hours on useless research. I'll try to blitzkrieg through Python as I absolutely must get a grip on Deep machine learning and Tensorflow next month.
>>61431206
forgot to say thanks, thanks.
When will the divide between python3 and python2 subside, or outright dissapear?
And will using one fuck me over the other?
>>61431206
Do you also need some resources on deep learning stuff?
>>61431262
It will probably be a long time if ever. They are essentially like different languages.
