Now that the dust has settled, what is the overall opinion on Windows ME?

I don't remember what exactly it was but microsoft did some retarded limitation for the user compared to how it was with win98se. basically win98se it superiour to windows me, both in functionality and performance.
I was about to post an incredibly lame pun but then

I used it for about 10 years, and it was great. It introduced many improvements over 98, such as native supported to .zip files.

Some neat ideas, but sticking with DOS was a fatal flaw and wholly unnecessary, especially considering they removed the ability to actually boot into a real mode DOS environment which was the only thing it was ever good for.

>zip
that's a moot point as winrar was already avaible back then an a requirement to install as it was already the dominant archive format.

Best OS

.zip was is still is the format used by 99% of people for all purposes.

better than 98

Windows me was them trying to do hololens on a 2d surface with megabytes of storage and kilobytes of ram
I am running ME at the moment
Actually dual booting ME, and Windows 3
BSOD more than any other version for me

It looked good actually, but stability was SHIT.
Remember in the meantime we had Win2000 which was based on NT and WinME was based on the Win9x kernel.

I liked it until I found a windows 2000 disc at school and fell in love with that.

This. Too bad I could only use Win2K in school, back in the day.
