LG V20 or the ZTE Axon 7?

I need good audio quality, and would like to be able to do a simple root and put LineageOS on it later.
>>
>>61371239
Axon 7 all day. No boot loops or retarded second screen
>>
>>61371253
The only thing keeping me from it is that it's ugly and is a chinkphone.
How does a phone with literally everything cost $400? I want a prettier phone like the Huawei Mate 9, but apparently that phone has shit audio.

Any Axon 7 owners who have had theirs for a long period of time? Is it worth getting in mid-2017?

You're confusing the Redmi 4 series (4X, 4, 4 Prime) with the Redmi Note 4 series (Note 4 (Mediatek) and Note 4 (Snapdragon))
The Note series have a much bigger battery than the other ones since they're somewhat bigger

The cameras on the rugged Blackview BV6000 are so bad it might as well not have any - but they do provide updates for it. Just installed a new one today. I'm actually a bit impressed that they ota updated from 6 to 7 right when 7 came out and still provide updates for it.

Weight and size and in practice no cameras are drawbacks with it, but they do provide updates.. rare, considering they released two more BV's after this one.

P8 lite (original from 2015) has the old android and other flaws like the autonomy as you pointed out (2200 mAh vs 4100 mAh), it's still pretty reliable though but clearly outdated.

The redmi 4x is very recent (6 months old IIRC), has a way better autonomy and more functionnality/better connectivity.

So I have a few questions that sorta relevant to this topic.

If phones have usb type-c
-Do they charge faster than quick charge models?
-Can phones with type c stream video like hdmi?
-If my mother board has a usb type c slot, are transfer speeds faster than usb 2.0?
-Also, can it fast charge from the type c port on my mobo?

Looking for a new phone and I keep coming back to the LG V20.
Camera means fuckall to me since I don't take pictures, and I like that it has a removable battery. If I got it I would most likely get a second battery for it to mitigate what's apparently a less than stellar battery life.

I have been debating between the Axon 7 and the v20 myself.
Both have DACs, but I don't really know in depth which one is better and which one is properly amped.
Supposedly there is a new Axon 8 coming out, so I'm holding off for that.

But the V20 has that IR blaster. And has LineageOS support (which kills the second screen)

I need a cheapish smartphone for my dad. Did some research and it led me to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Is there anything better in the price range or cheaper? What is Xiaomi's track record for Durability and Software updates?
>Country
Ukraine/Israel (can buy at both).
>Carrier
Not relevant, since carrier use GSM.
>Wanted features
He needs it to sound record 2-3 hour long lectures so a good battery life and a SD slot are preferable. Other than that, any all rounder will do since he isn't an avid smartphone user (at best watches YouTube on old Galaxy Mini).
>Budget
Around the price of Redmi Note 4, preferably cheaper.

What's the verdict on the ZTE Axon 7? Chinky piece of garbage or a viable way to avoid Jewsung and LG?
>>

>>61389891
>American-made
Pretty much nothing is made in the US anymore, especially not smartphones

>>61389933
The only thing chinky about it is the price (amazingly cheap for the specs it offers), the software is quite close to stock (no cancerous skin or bloat/malware) and reliability seems good too (you rarely see people having any issues with it)

>>61389933

Guide I'm using: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/oneplus-3-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t3398733

So I've unlocked my bootloader when I first got this phone almost a year ago. I wanted to root my phone so I continued with Step 2.

> opened command prompt and recovery.img was flashed successfully
> I get the message: Once the flash has completed, Don't use the "Fastboot Reboot" Command Instead Unplug Your phone then Manually boot it into recovery by keeping Power + Volume Down button pressed.
> I try Power + Vol Down. Doesn't work. Phone is turned off.
> I turn on the phone, I get the message (as usual everytime I boot) "your phone cannot be trusted- if no button is pressed, phone will boot. press volume keys for more options"
> I press the vol. keys and I see recovery. I press it, screen goes to black. And that's it.

From here I have no idea where to go. Any help appreciated.

Why do these stupid companies always put glass backplated on their high end smartphones like it's something worth paying extra for, when all it does is collect more smudge and become more slipperly and fragile, it doesnt even look good.

Plastic backplates look better, they are easily replaceable, they are cheap and they would reduce the production cost and overall price a ton. It fucking bothers me, who actually likes the glossy ugly glass back?

1. Try "fastboot boot recovery.img"
2. Try another version of TWRP

Sure. You can either get a feature phone or kill yourself. Or check out SailfishOS or what is left of Ubuntu Phone. But diving into that is a complete different hell of it's own.

No, HMD Global is a Finnish company, the HQ is in Finland, a lot of the execs are former Nokia employees. Nokia licensed their name to them and IIRC they also have some level of oversight over the whole operation. They're only chinkphones if you consider everything that's made in china as chinkphones (that includes iPhones too)

Has anyone here successfully rooted a Blu r1 hd? If so how did you do it, can it be done from linux or do I need windows, and did all the phones features still work after doing so? minus ads and ota obviously.

I just told you why they aren't that. And what chinkphones come with 100% stock and bloat-free android and fast and frequent software updates? Also they still have the same great build quality that Nokia was famous for, just check the bend test / teardown by JerryRigEverything. By his own words: "The Nokia 6 is one of the STRONGEST phones I have ever tested."
