I was scared that it was a bad investment.

$489 (Mobo) + $599 (CPU) but I think it'll last me for at least 4-5 years :^)

I was gonna go with ASrock mobo and shave like $100 off but I've been using ASUS for like 10 years I'd rather stay on that camp. This PC is going to be on 24/7.

I don't want to go with Xeon or ECC RAM. It's for content creation, don't need that much precision, just cores.

Mobo is already here, CPU is back ordered (they said a week or two).

Also I use Adobe applications and I don't think they're tweaked to work with AMD well, yet.

Also might Hackintosh later, and AMD is not really Hackintoshable.

If you don't ABSOLUTELY need that software (say for job reasons), then run away from the hackintosh scene, as it is the most pointless thing possible.
I'm sure there are FOSS alternatives for most software you might wanna use, or even Windows ones.
