I actually use every core I can get my fuckin hands on at work. When you're making money with it, and I don't mean bullshit bitcoin mining, but actual work for real companies, sometimes an hour means 5 maybe 6 figures.

At my last internship, I probably would waste about half an hour every day compiling shit, since I did a lot of build changes. From the company's perspective, an 18 core CPU would pay for itself really quickly.
