Just pick up a Nook Simple Touch and throw a 32GB micro SD card on it. You can get them for like 40-50 bucks, and are capable of reading a shit ton of formats.

Kindle paperwhite. Awesome display, easy controls. Easy to pirate books and easy to buy books from amazon.

is it worth to flash it with a custom rom?

i got one of those for 10 bux from a thrift shop. it looks nice but the battery life is abysmal compared to my old k3. i think it's cause there's no way to actually turn the backlight all the way off; if you look at it in a dark room you can see the screen is still just barely glowing with brightness set to 0.
