What happened? Did you forget it can be run on Linux?

But pajeets use javascript and python for scripting. WhitePowershell is exclusive to white nationals.
>>61305711
I've never seen powershell hate on g.
Personally like it a lot.
what the fuck is the purpose of powershell other than for running screenfetch?
>>61305711
No real use. I defy you how can this supposedly "object oriented shell" be used like a pro for Linux.
>>61305711
cos /g/ doesn't work in IT
>>61307412
This
>>61305711
Horrible syntax.
But as a sysadmin with many WIndows servers to manage it's a lifesaver
>>61305711
No, we hate powershell because its core idea was a mind-bendingly stupid one.
>"Hey, Pajeet, a lot of tech people are abandoning our platform because they like unix tools. Why do they like them so much?"
>"Well, Anil, being able to treat lots of data as files containing text strings, and being able to compose little programs through piping text through them is really powerful. How could we beat that?"
>"I know! Instead of text, let's make everything C# objects!"
>>61307412
>>61307606
it's only a lifesaver because the alternative is either old-style cmd or no CLI at all. It's a shitty tool, but a shitty tool is better than no tool.
>>61307654
Windows and Microsoft are shit, and their tools are shit as well. I obviously prefer *nix-like OS's in every way.
But because I work in an big enterprise environment everyone has to use shitty outlook and MS office, so I'm left to manage lots of Windows servers
>>61307388
it is used frequently in system administration
>>61305711
it's the classic MS way of doing things; providing something completely insufficient (cmd) and then making up for it by shipping an over-engineered mess that can't be decoupled from their environment no matter how hard you try.

>/g/ hates Powershell
I don't, but a shell based on a managed language isn't a particulary good idea.
I fucking hate it because when it came around MShills treated it like it was the goddamn invention of the century AND made fun of linux' shell for "being so primitive compared to it".
It's so fucking frustrating to have to work with dipshits who don't even realize how limiting their OS is on them, but they'll suck it up because "hurrr muh ease of use". YES, SO IS A FISHER PRICE TOY, YOU TARD

Either you got baited hard or that never happened.
