This is my situation, mainly because the phone I have is barely a midtier one, but atleast I can still get unofficial roms that will last me another few years at the very least.
Don't get me wrong though, I do think my ios device has it's advantages over my android, but an older android I have is still working as it should with unofficial roms while my ios device is starting to slow down even when watching youtube.
And I'd also like to atleast be able to jailbreak it when it stops getting updates so that it atleast has the functionalities it could have gotten, but as of now if you update, like me, from something like ios 9 to 10 you won't get the ability to jailbreak anymore.
